The Open-Ended Working Group I will gather in Nairobi the last week of August 2019. In this context, UNDP, CBD and UN Environment are organizing a workshop on Assessing Progress Towards the Aichi Targets and Use of Spatial Data in the 6th National Reports to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
During this workshop, we will discuss how to bridge the gaps to better position Parties to implement, monitor and report on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. UNDP will share information on the progress Parties are making to use spatial data for national reporting. Representatives from selected countries will showcase their innovative use of spatial data to address conservation and development challenges. The Secretariat of the CBD will emphasize Parties’ advancements towards Aichi Biodiversity Targets. After the workshop, and throughout the week, UNDP and UNEP will host a helpdesk that provides technical support to countries working to develop or apply the results of their 6NR.
Come meet us on Monday 26 August 2019, from 10am to 1pm EAT, Conference Room 14 (Rooftop), UNON Campus, Nairobi, Kenya. If you have any question, please contact Marion Marigo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
