Dans le pays on voit l'expansion des terres agricoles c'est 72% (le standard c'est 60-65%), on cultive 53,8% des terres (mais le standard - 40%). Les forêts occupent 15% de territoire mais selon les standards il faut avoir 20% et plus encore.
Jagriti is a community-based organization operating in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It works towards women’s empowerment through livelihood development and the promotion of energy-efficient and drudgery-reducing devices. Since 2002, Jagriti has been disseminating a package of energy-efficient devices (including liquefied petroleum gas stoves, pressure cookers and traditional water heaters) in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu District. This energy programme is implemented through over 100 women’s savings and credit groups at the village and hamlet level.
It is clear that the balance between private sector interest, societal interest and conservation interest within Protected Areas is different from that outside of these Protected Areas. Within the Protected Area’s the conservation interest should have extra weight. In order to arrive at a strengthened Protected Area system (state, private or community managed) the following actions are urgently needed:

The Sagana Women’s Group was formed in 1977 by a group of women who wanted to address basic issues that affected them and their families, such as housing, water supply, education and poverty alleviation. The group also wanted to engage the local community in environmental conservation activities, and improve livelihoods by establishing a sustainable environmental conservation enterprise. The Sagana Fish and Bee Keeping Women Self Help Group started the 'Sagana Fish Farming Project' in 2003, with the financial support of the GEF.
